Absolutely amazing service and good food, everything is cook at the time you order the fish is seasoned perfectly and the cook is very friendly.

I regret not taking a picture of my delicious food! I guess I just have to come back. I came here Saturday before 10 am, while it was quiet. They serve breakfast items, but I was able to order non-breakfast items without a problem. I ordered red snapper, tilapia, and shrimp, with fries, hush puppies and yams. 1. Fish and shrimp were fresh and clean tasting. 2. I like their cornflour batter! It wasn't too salty and allowed me to distinguish the type of fish I was having. 3. Sides were not meager. I even had a little left over. 4. Frying oil tasted clean. 5. Shrimp was perfectly cooked. Wasn't gummy. 6. It's a chill environment with nice booths for seating. 7. the service was great! 8. My kid liked eating the FISH!!!! Totally different and can't be compared to SCV Fish. I like them both. A bit pricey but worth it if they get my kid to eat seafood. My sincere hope is that this fish joint keeps smelling clean! Can't wait to return!

You can't do better if you want soul food specially especially the fish variety! Blueface likes fish I like fish One fish Two fish Red fish Blue fish Thas' how we got down in dis motha' ya heard?

I decided today was the day to get back to my Southern roots so this seemed like it was going to be the best choice for me locally. If you like fried catfish, collard greens and hush puppies then you definitely need to stop here and get all of the above. Growing up in Texas these things were commonplace but since leaving there many moons ago I have only come across two decent places in the L.A. area that could make good Southern food the way it should be, this is definitely one of them. For the price you will satisfy your wallet and your appetite. I ordered the seafood plate that comes with a choice of fish (so catfish), but they have other choices. A side of collard greens, that were really good, could have had a touch more of vinegar for my taste but really tasty none the less. Finally I ordered hush puppies that really are something that you have to have with catfish, I think there is some law that actually says that in Texas. Anyway, these were all really, really good and this is a great place to stop in for a lunch or take food home. Either way give it a go and if you don't know what Southern food is, come in, order and you will. People who work there a super friendly too....good Southern hospitality in a Southern California location.

Was it good? Was it worth the money? Was I treated well? Will I come back? Yes to all the above. Fish was fried perfectly and the tartar sauce and hot sauce were good quality. It's best to eat it right away because it gets soggy steaming in a togo container. I was hungry so I ordered the platter with swai and the po boy with tilapia. I liked both. Fries were crispy and on the thinner side. Seasoning was classic and traditional. No weird surprises. I would go here for lunch or a quick dinner. The parking is tight so bring a little car so it'll fit in the stalls. Next on my list are the chicken wings and sausage. People working there were very nice to me and it felt like a family business which is great because there's not enough small businesses in SCV. Give it a try.

Upon walking in is a fresh blue background. The server was friendly and kind of cute, Beyonce cute. The wait was short and me and my buddy glen only waited for about 5 minutes whilst Watching some rap on the TV inside. I never heard of blueface the rapper, but he is the owner. The food was extremely salty with seasoning and flavor. I got a good portion, was about 13$ for the platter. I got chicken, collard greens and some tarter sauce. You get a piece of bread that was included as well. The manager was talking to guests and walking in the front and back. The cooks were in there cooking soul food. They had seafood, chicken, meatloaf and other fried goodies for the soul. Yum. The exterior is not what you would expect it says a different title like scv fish market instead of blues but the place is new so they haven't changed the name yet. Overall, very salty but packed with seasoning. For me, I like salad without the dressing and some grilled chicken, but it definitely is worth a try.
